The conference took place on 26-27.09.2024 in Krakow, at the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University. It was organized by the Polish Institute of Internal Control.
The congress has a long tradition and still has a unique rank in Poland. This year’s event was attended by over 250 auditors, internal controllers, risk management specialists, as well as professionals dealing with the prevention and detection of economic fraud and corruption. The main topics during the congress were challenges and prospects in the area of internal control, audit, anti-corruption and combating fraud.
AZ Frame’s contribution included the topic of artificial intelligence and its role in the future of audit and internal control. Ireneusz Suszek, as one of the speakers, emphasized the need for improving audit and control processes based on a huge amount of data by using the AI IBM watsonx platform. To achieve this, it is necessary to simultaneously implement “data governance” processes. In the context of choosing an AI tool, the aspect of security and ethics is also extremely important, as well as the process of learning language models.
Here are a handful of conclusions – important for us not only as a technology manufacturer, but also as an end user.
1. The importance of innovative technology in audit and internal control: Modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence and data analysis, play an increasingly important role in detecting abuse and risk management.
2. The growing importance of ethics and organizational culture: The need to build a strong ethical culture in organizations, which is key to effectively preventing corruption and fraud.
3. International cooperation: Strengthening international cooperation in the exchange of information and best practices in the fight against abuse and corruption.
4. Education and training: Continuous education and improvement of qualifications of specialists in the field of audit and internal control is essential for the effective performance of their duties.
The common denominator for the areas discussed was the human factor, which is key to implementing innovative AI technology, cybersecurity, crisis management, data confidentiality and organizational culture.
These were two days full of interesting conversations, filled with practical knowledge and networking. The first day ended – literally – in a magical way, thanks to the extraordinary performance of an illusionist invited especially for the event. Big applause for the organizers PIKW’s Ireneusz Jabłoński and Piotr Grzybowski.
We are glad that we could co-create the event as a Gold Partner of the conference. Many thanks to PIKW for the invitation. We will definitely see you next year and we do hope for an ever-increasing turnout.
